- 1 cup samo flour (or ground moriyo)
- 1 boiled potato, mashed
- 1 tsp ginger-chilli paste
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp sugar (optional)
- Rock salt to taste
- 1 tsp Eno fruit salt (or ½ tsp baking soda)
- Water as needed
How to Make Farali Dhokla | ફરાળી ઢોકળાં
- In a bowl, mix samo flour, mashed potato, ginger-chilli paste, lemon juice, salt, and sugar.
- Add water slowly and make a medium-thick batter. Let it rest for 10–15 minutes.
- Grease a dhokla plate or thali and keep your steamer ready.
- Right before steaming, add eno and mix gently. Pour into the plate and steam for 15–20 minutes on medium heat.
- Check with a toothpick. If it comes out clean, it’s done. Cut into squares and serve warm.
